How to pay for a transfer in Kazakhstan

Payments in Kazakhstan are made in tenge (KZT). A transfer can be paid by bank card on the website, in cash to the driver, by bank transfer, or against an invoice for companies. The price is quoted individually and fixed when the order is confirmed — it does not change afterwards.

Cards issued in 79 countries are accepted online — the list was agreed with the acquiring bank and is given below. Kazakhstani cards, Kaspi Gold included, work.

Updated:

How can you pay for a transfer?

  • By bank card on the website — Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Payment goes through the provider’s secure page with 3-D Secure; card details are not stored on our side.
  • In cash to the driver, in tenge — at the price fixed when the order was confirmed.
  • By bank transfer or against an invoice for companies — the option for businesses, hotels and event organisers.

The payment method is chosen when you book: a manager confirms the request, and until then it is not a confirmed booking. Book at least 10 hours before pickup.

Which countries’ cards work?

The acquiring bank has approved 79 countries. If yours is not on the list, the trip is still possible: cash to the driver and invoice payment remain.

What currency is the ride priced in?

Everything is priced in tenge (KZT). A card issued outside Kazakhstan is charged in tenge, and your bank converts it to your account currency at its own rate — which we do not control.

The price is fixed when the order is confirmed and does not change afterwards: traffic, a delayed flight or a night arrival will not raise it retroactively.

What if the card is declined?

Usually it is one of three things: the bank rejected a payment without 3-D Secure, foreign transactions are blocked on the card, or a limit has been reached. Check for a confirmation prompt in your banking app and try again.

If that does not help, the trip is not lost: message the manager — the order stands, and you can pay the driver in cash or against an invoice.

Cancellation and refunds

  • Cancellation at least 24 hours before pickup is free, with a full refund.
  • Later than 24 hours, the dispatch fee is retained and the remainder is refunded.
  • Refund requests go by phone or to booking@transfer-astana.com. Review takes up to 3 business days; money reaches the card within 10 business days.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pay for a transfer with a foreign card?

Yes, if the card was issued in one of the 79 countries on the acquiring bank's list: Europe, the USA, Türkiye, the UAE, China, Japan, Korea, the CIS and others. Payment is confirmed with 3-D Secure; card details are entered on the payment provider's secure page and are not stored on our side.

Do you accept Kaspi?

Cards from Kazakhstani banks, Kaspi Gold included, are accepted on the website alongside Visa and Mastercard.

Can I pay the driver in cash?

Yes. Paying the driver in cash remains a normal option — in tenge, at the price fixed when the order was confirmed.

Do you work with companies against an invoice?

Yes, bank transfer against an invoice is available for companies. It is also the convenient option when a hotel or an event organiser books rides for its guests.

What currency are the prices in?

Everything is settled in tenge (KZT). The ride is priced individually and quoted when the order is confirmed; if your card was issued elsewhere, your bank charges the amount in tenge and converts it to your account currency at its own rate.

What happens if I cancel?

Cancel at least 24 hours before pickup and it is free — the payment is refunded in full. Cancel later than that and the dispatch fee is retained, with the remainder refunded. Requests are accepted by phone or at booking@transfer-astana.com: up to 3 business days to review, up to 10 business days for the money to reach the card.
